1. Ensure Safety First

  • Check for injuries. Call 995 immediately if anyone is hurt.
  • Move to a safe location if possible, or turn on hazard lights.
  • Set up warning triangles if available.

2. Contact Authorities

  • Emergency (injuries): Call 995 for ambulance
  • Police: Call 999 or report at nearest police station within 24 hours
  • Traffic Police: 6547 0000 (for serious accidents)

3. Document Evidence

  • Take photos of vehicle damage from multiple angles.
  • Photograph the accident scene, road conditions, and traffic signs.
  • Record vehicle positions before moving them (if safe).
  • Note weather conditions, time, and location details.
  • Get contact details of witnesses.

4. Exchange Information

Exchange the following with other parties:

  • Full name and NRIC/FIN
  • Contact number and address
  • Vehicle registration number
  • Insurance company and policy number
  • Driving license number

5. Report to Insurance

  • Contact your insurance company within 24 hours (or as specified in your policy).
  • Provide all documentation and photos.
  • Follow their instructions for vehicle inspection and repairs.
  • Keep copies of all correspondence and claim documents.
